The Triptych
After being part of Martin of Tours, Basildon, Team Ministry for 12 years (1978-1990), Laindon was once again given its own Parish on the 1st November 1990 but this time linking it to Dunton.
To celebrate this occasion, Rose Swatton came up with the idea of producing an embroidered triptych depicting the life of the people of Laindon, Dunton and St Nicholas and with the help of members of St Nicholas congregation produced this beautiful addition to the church interior fabric.
The triptych sits in the window recess on the north wall facing the porch door. The first vicar of this new parish was Naunihal Paul he had been the team leader for the previous seven years.
